I used RVM, after several instances of install-by-hand-from-source, for nearly two years before switching to rbenv. I've been in Ruby for 8 years now, with it being my default/preferred language for 5. I've shipped code as part of operating systems, plural, that you've used. I'm currently in the fifth startup of my career at least two of them have shipped products you have used regularly, now or in the past. I've shipped code in 42 languages and counting. I rather suspect that that predates your folks' first date.
Let's see, kid…I've been writing software with the expectation of getting paid continuously since 1 June 1979.
